If you love animals, get PUMPED! PlattForm will be having the first ever "Humane Society Day" on January 23rd. There will be breakfast provided (for a nominal fee) as well as a bake sale with human treats to snack on and animal treats to pamper your pet available to buy. Proceeds from this event will go to The Greater Kansas City Humane Society. Who knows... there might even be a little puppy or two running around!

Winter is tough on the Humane Society as donations tend to dwindle quite a bit after the holidays. This year, more than ever, animals are being left each day at the front doors due to the downward spiral of the economy. Shelters around the nation are estimating an increase in 2008 of anywhere from 30-50% more in pets being dropped off than previous years. The Humane Society is in desperate need of monetary donations to support the no-kill shelter and all of the animals currently residing there.

As we look toward the new year, please remember this day and how much of an impact we can have on the Humane Society. PlattForm does a wonderful job supporting the human charities all throughout the year, but let's, for once, consider the 4-legged animals that so many of us fondly have a passion for.
